Since joining the Rugby League Code in the 1920's, The Castleford Tigers have preserved the elegance of British rugby. With a long list of rugby legends, such as Malcolm Reilly, Alan Hardisty, and John Joyner, Castleford has established a truly astounding tradition. Winners of five RFL Yorkshire Cups and four Challenge Cups, The Tigers have etched their name in rugby history.
In 1969, the Castleford Tigers danced their way to the final stage of the Challenge Cup where a match with Salford would determine the champion. Lead by Malcolm Reilly, The Tigers secured the Cup behind a superb performance from their star player. Reilly was honored after the contest receiving the Lance Todd Trophy Man of The Match award for his dominance on the field. The following year, Reilly led Castleford to yet another Challenge Cup championship, further solidifying his legacy. Malcolm Reilly would later be inducted into the British Rugby League Hall of Fame, where he would be recognized as one of the 25 best players in British rugby history.
