Official Gilbert World Rugby Shop Barbarian Match Ball

The Gilbert Barbarian match ball offers a high grade rubber surface and a patented Truflight bladder.

The Barbarian has been hand-stitched and is an official size 5 rugby ball. It features a traditional all-purpose grip, using round pimples of uniform height. The Ellipse Truflight Valve redistributes weight along the seams of the ball to improve rotational stability, resulting in greater accuracy. It is made of 3 ply polyester laminate to ensure high energy transfer between boot and ball. The surface is made of G-SR rubber compound. The Barbarian conforms to World Rugby specifications.

Ball Care:

• Inflate to 9.5 psi using a hand pump
  
• Prior to training or match, use a soft cloth, light detergent and warm water to remove dirt and residue from your rugby ball. This ensures that the grip remains in prime condition for maximum length of time.

◄HOW TO INFLATE A RUGBY BALL

1. In order to get the needle into the ball, dampen the needle with water.

2. The valve for the ball is situated in the main panel, but on the match balls the valve is hidden in the seam.

3. Make sure there is enough space for the needle to go all the way in without touching the facing inside wall of the ball. Not doing this may puncture the ball from the inside. Hold the neck of the valve with two fingers. Pinch it, wet the needle and slide it in.

4. It also helps to grip the entry point from underneath to make sure the needle goes all the way in.

5.The most mentioned problem when inflating balls is that the needle isn’t inserted into the bladder. If you hear air escaping, you haven’t put the needle all the way into the bladder of the ball.
