Brandywine Rugby Football Club was formed in 1983 by founding father, Scott Johnson. Legend has it that Scott was so fond of the game that he was married on the BRFC home pitch, known to players as “The Pasture”. The event took place between matches, with Scott wearing full rugby regalia complemented only by a traditional tuxedo jacket. It is reputed that Scott returned to the match just as soon as the wedding ceremony had been performed.
Located in the heart of West Chester, Pennsylvania, BRFC is a member of the EPRU (Eastern Pennsylvania Rugby Union), which in turn is a member of MARFU (Mid Atlantic Rugby Football Union), they compete in the EPRU Division II.
