We are excited to announce that World Rugby Shop has moved back to Birmingham, Alabama, just seven minutes from where it originated 22 years ago! On Friday, April 17, trucks left Mebane, NC and drove through the night to reach us early Saturday morning. Adhering to COVID-19 restrictions, only a sparse few of our team, donned in goggles, gloves, homemade hazmat suits and face-masks hand sewn by our CFO, Lee Kuwica, worked through the weekend to get all the merchandise ready to ship on Monday morning. It was an incredible experience, and I am so grateful to our team for their dedication in stocking the warehouse with unprecedented speed!
Our new rugby headquarters/warehouse is just two minutes from the regional FedEx hub, enabling us to extend our shipping cut off to 6 P.M. CST and still get items anywhere in the United States by the next day! Because a few of our partners have been horribly affected by the current pandemic, some merchandise may be delayed. If an item is likely to reach you later than expected, we will do our best to let you know.
We are dedicated to serving our customers as efficiently and effectively as possible. We have shifted from providing call center customer support to a new and massively-improved, online service. We are hoping that this reduces response wait times and provides a more stream-lined method of communication for our customers. So far, so good. The feedback we have received has been phenomenal.
It has been an exciting couple of decades for all of us at World Rugby Shop. We had 15 wonderful years sharing space with the Soccer.com
family in NC, and we made great memories there. Even so, we couldn't be more excited about our new Rugby space with our dedicated team.
At this point, we’re still working on getting settled in and adding more artwork to the walls. Though much remains to be done, we’re incredibly excited about our new home and the start of a new chapter in our history. We look forward to serving you from Birmingham, Alabama.
Thanks for everyone's support through the years and with our transition. We hope that you are healthy and safe. And, we look forward to playing rugby again very soon!
