Founded: February 23, 1944

On February 23rd, 1944, a group of young atheletes and friends, among them the bothers Ricardo and Enrique Martinez Pastur, Pila and David León Medina and Carlos Rojo, founded the Cardenales Rugby Club. "The Youth Always Triumphs" was the motto chosen as guiding star of their dreams and they stamped on every act, the definitive and proper seal of this insitution: joy. Cardenales, along with clubs like Tucumán Rugby, Natación y Gimnasia and Universitario were the ones who founded the so-called Union of the North, which later would turn into what is know today as the Tucuman Rugby Union.
