     A match ball is normally differentiated from a training ball by its firmness and grip. A match ball is typically firmer than a training ball when fully inflated, and in many cases has an improved grip. Greater care is often taken in assuring the symmetry and overall shape of the ball as well. They are usually more expensive than their training ball counterparts as a result and are not recommended for everyday use.

Training/Practice Balls

     Training balls, as the name implies, are perfectly suited for practice. They are normally slightly softer when fully inflated than a match ball which makes it easier to catch repeatedly. They are usually significantly cheaper than a match ball, but they are more than sufficient for practicing and are much better at withstanding the rigors of everyday use.
