Southern Ontario was the birthplace of Barbarian Sportswear in 1981. Barbarian Rugby Wear focuses on passion, commitment and creativity when it comes to manufacturing their products for their customers. They want their players to know that their Barbarian sportswear is an exact representation of the attitudes they have on the field in a game.
They began producing rugby shirts made of 100% cotton or a 50/50 mix of cotton and acrylic fabrics. The range of color selection was slim and they did not have any in-stock merchandise. Barbarian looked to expand their network throughout the US and Canada. Team Dealers was their first stop, followed by college bookstores and independent specialty retailers. Because of their expansion, they wanted to develop a quality name for themselves. They discontinued the production of acrylic jerseys, and put their attention on 100% cotton. Their color selection grew as well.
Today, Barbarian produces more than 60 different shirts that are made with 100% pre-shrunk cotton along with vibrant long-lasting colors. They also offer half cotton, half polyester or even their advanced PRO-fit high performance fiber for customers who would like to make customized shirts to their liking. With the advancing technology of today, Barbarian continues to improve their fabrics and produce them at the highest quality. They focus on producing the best moisture-controlled rugby shirts out there. The Barbarian name can be seen on the Canadian and German National rugby teams as they are two of their top sponsors. They supply their products to several rugby clubs, colleges, and several independent sporting good retailers across the globe.
Barbarian is also highly specialized in producing leisurewear and active lifestyle apparel for the growing health conscious population. They offer several different styles of shirts along with many vibrant colors to choose from. Barbarian stays loyal to their markets from 25 years ago and continues to expand today. Their dedication and passion for the game of rugby goes into their production of their goods, and they take extreme pride in what they supply to their customers.
